THE
MAYA HOLIDAYS
The
Maya Holidays was created after analyzing various earlier discount card
concepts. The success and failure of discount cards that has been in the
market was used as guidance to create an attractive holiday card program
for customers.
The desires and taste of customers are given the main priority, their
affordability to spend are considered ,and thus, a unique program which
is simple and easy ,but at the same time offers many facilities, was proposed.
All the above factors was arranged and combined into the Maya Card Holidays
program.
In selecting recreation and vacation centers, we have chosen concepts,
which are preferred by most and fulfilled the taste of most individual
and families in this country. Water recreation centers, which promises
a good time with their families are popular destinations that has always
been the main attraction. All water recreation center in Malaysia was
gathered into one group. This combination of water recreation centers
was expected to attract individuals and families to become Maya members,
and will therefore visit these centers to have fun and enjoy the discounts
offered.
To add more fun and opportunities to go on vacation and recreation to
Maya Card members, we have chosen attractive water vacation destinations
to be visited. Seaside resorts under the "fun in the sun" and
"tropical beauty beaches" became choices. To give a variety
of satisfaction, holiday destinations under the 'Water Destinations' concepts
such as resorts by waterfall which promises a joyous time and the challenge
of "Waterfall Adventure" was included. Island vacations with
the "Island Escape" atmosphere and the "Lake View"
lake holidays, which offers shooting and relaxing view are specific product
characteristics under the Maya Holidays.

To encourage vacationing in the country by offering attractive discounts
to customers . Also act as a mediator that unites water recreation centers
and water concept holiday resorts with the public.

COMPANY BACKGROUND
Maya Warisan Sendirian Berhad is private company based on tourism, and
was incorporated on 22 May 2000 .Its headquarters is in Melaka , and is
located in a popular business park, that is Melaka Raya.
Maya Warisan started its operations on 1st July 2000, by issuing discount
cards called the Maya Card . These cards enable their holders to obtain
20% to 40% discounts at the water recreation parks and accommodations
(hotels & resorts) situated in Melaka and her neighbors, i.e. Negeri
Sembilan and Johor .The motto promoted is "Melaka & Neighboring
Attractions" using the "Fun And Splashy Destinations" concept.
Eight outlets participated in this holiday program including Water World,
Wet Water Pedas, Riviera Bay Resort and Gunung Ledang Resorts.
After six months promoting , Maya Card membership has reached the 3,000
members mark. Most of the members are married and from the medium income
group. With this tremendous membership ,all eight outlets that participated
in this program admitted that the number of visitors to their place has
increased especially from Maya Card members. This has convinced the company
that the holiday discount concept is practical to increase the frequency
of visitors to go vacationing. For Maya members, they appreciated this
concept because beside vacationing in a selected location, they are given
an attractive discount.
In July 2001 ,after one year in operation, 14 new outlets have applied
to participated in this Maya Card Holidays by giving their best discounts
and services To Maya members. In the second year , 22 outlets have combined
themselves into one "water attraction" group under the Maya
Holidays and had directly made the Maya Card very popular in every state
in Malaysia. During that time ,the Maya membership has touched the 15,000
members mark.
